Here, a few rice plantations were converted into parks and reserves because the loch systems in the fields are great for controlling flooding. As such, most of these parks have at the bare minimum a plague memorializing the slaves who lived there.
Does the “again” refer to the 2000s, when we were constantly at war, or the 1990s and 80s, when we were constantly at war, or the 70s and 60s, when not every American had equal rights, or the 50s and 40s, when not every American had equal rights and when we were constantly at war or the 30s and 20s when not every American had equal rights and we were in a depression, or the 1890s and 10s, when only cis white men had rights and we were dying from disease (and constantly at war)
