Yeah this is just the fascist corporatist economics policy. I genuinely can’t tell if this post is a joke because the unfortunate reality is that most Americans genuinely believe that “socialism is when da goberment do bad thing” without a hint or irony or sarcasm. McCarthy rotted Americans brains possibly permanently (but hopefully not) where basic social democracy is literally considered you loving Stalin in the USA.

Mussolini never said this, but he did support nationalizing corporations. Fascism is a flavor of socialism, “The doctrine of fascism” co-authored by Mussolini and Gentile makes that clear.

You’d be correct, if socialism to you is literally just “when the big government does stuff and nationalizes stuff” then yeah you’d be correct.🙄 like you do know that state directed capitalism is a thing, right? Where the company is kept is private hands but capitalism is guided by the government. Fascist State capitalism/corpratism isn’t socialism, and it was the same economic system that South Korea used under its fascist dictatorships.

You can literally learn about all of this in just a few wiki articles. And so let’s say trump is a “communist” because he likes big government, does that mean you think socialism is good? Because what is trump if he’s a fascist AND fascism is also socialism and socialism is bad?

Socialism is when the means of production are collectively owned. State ownership is one type of collective ownership.

I think they know that, but they’re using the logic of right wing people against themselves because they believe “communism is when big goberment!”, at least for the stupider ones they actually believe that.
