A brain dead pregnant woman is being kept on life support, raising legal questions

This case in particular is complicated. But I do think keeping her on life support was the right decision for the sole reason of the father wanted the baby delivered. The mother can’t make decisions because she’s brain dead, and what’s the point of losing 2 lives instead of one. Imagine if you were that father. Your wife and baby all at once. Sad, complicated situation.
Imagine knowing you were only born into existence bc they used your mom as an incubator while her body slowly deteriorated until the situation was so dire that you had to be extracted… also knowing that the mother had multiple other children at home waiting for her. Don’t you think those kids would resent their new sibling for not allowing their mom to die for weeks on end?
A fetus is not a human life. If it was, we wouldn’t have birthdays, it would be conception days Even if you want to make an argument the fetus is the same as a human life, as late as this February the baby is still in the hospital and still weighs under 5 lbs. Under any normal circumstances both would be dead, not just one. And if this happens in the future, I guarantee that a baby surviving will be the exception and not the norm
And I bet you made the life of this child real easy too now. Thanks to the selfishness of so called “pro life” people, this child will struggle for years with disability and countless other complications. Infinity more painful than any abortion would have been (provided you view the fetus as a whole ass person)
Well the potential of a baby has birth defects is not an excuse to kill it. That’s some Nazi shit right there. The mother wanted her off life support the father did not. He named the baby Chance, which is beautiful. Leaves them alone and let a father make a decision about his own damn baby.
No. Adriana smith could not have consented because she’s brain dead. Thus, that responsibility should go father of the unborn baby. The complications arise from the fact they weren’t married. So legally who does the right go to the mother or the father? I say the father, he’s got more skin in the game, and more to lose.
Is Adriana was not brain dead and wanted the baby, aborted it would have been done before. It’s in no way a violation of her because she cannot make decisions on her own and the reigning decision before she was in the hospital was to keep the baby. Do you believe that hospitals shouldn’t provide the option to save an unborn fetus at all? Just let it die, fuck the father wishes? What is wrong with you?
