Lol. You are seriously deluded. Human activity on this planet is THE threat to the biosphere, it’s existential.

then why is it that only in recent centuries humans have begun to destabilize the biosphere? humans have been on the planet for hundreds of thousands to millions of years, and it has only been the past two centuries that has truly threatened this planet with catastrophe

Capitalism has a direct link to negative environmental consequences. Capitalism is also directly linked to racial tensions favoring white males

It doesn’t matter that capitalism just so happened to be the system most efficient to organize the means of our society. In addition, the economic systems of the past, are different than today.

You can call capitalism “efficient”, but you also must recognize the consequences of it

I don’t see how race plays a role in this. “White capitalism”? If black people lived in a more-idylic place like europe, then they would have had developed the technological capacity to build industrialism. What is this ridiculous term you are using? Do you honestly think that the average person who lives in the congo cares about “sustainability?”

It’s not allowed to be unethical? Who are you to tell me. And who are you to define what is “ethical”? This situation cannot be “planned” out of. You cannot create a “perfect” society to a “perfect” plan.

White capitalism is a particular issue that occurs in Western capitalist culture. Essentially, America went from slavery industrialization (cotton farms) to post-civil war America & industrialization. Many of the black americans were injured and disabled due to the conditions of the farms and they were cheap labor to use off of farms. Thus, during the industrial revolution black americans faced harsh working conditions that furthered the “superiority” of their white bosses. This leads to struc-

Must I? The consequences of capitalism and industrialism are almost one in the same. Capitalism, Socialism, bureaucracy, totalitarianism, surveillance, environmental problems, mental problems, etc, etc, are all problems/tools of Industrialism and/or technology.

Race plays a major major role. Think about all of the white billionaires, white politicians (it was just recently that POC and women were even allowed to vote and run for office which is crazy) this all feeds into white capitalism

Yeah, uhm, almost everyone faced harsh working conditions due to industrial, capitalistic competition. That’s why so much regulation is in place today.

The consequences of capitalism and the consequences of racism are prominent across capitalism, industrialization, mental health crisis, etc.

I agree 100% a lot of people faced harsh working conditions. However, because black americans have historically been considered as cheap labour and were able to be hired at a cheaper price, like women, they were much more heavily impacted by industrialization

Think about real world examples. Jobs with gender roles that are more male oriented tend to also be associated with being white. A lot of intersectionality takes place here

Like, I said, if black people someone had lived in a more idyllic continent than africa, then they’d be the ones at the top. Say all the continents were farther north, and europe was almost frozen wasteland, and africa was more temperate. It would have been black people who developed industrial power first. It would have been black people to be the top billionaires. The fact is, to the problem of the environment, it doesn’t matter what the color of the person chopping down the tree is.

Well hold on so you seem to be agreeing with me here. The fact is that European colonizers were the ones who developed industrial powers therefore making people of color “inferior” to their power over industrialization and capitalism

That doesn’t matter to the problem of the environment. What you are say, about gender, race, “white capitalism”—it doesn’t matter. The fact is, if Black people were at the top, or if women were, they’d be doing the same things.

Okay. Let me re-phrase. It doesn’t matter that the people in charge of destroying the environment are mostly white men, if that’s even true. Because you think that if black women were charge that, what, they’d suddenly stopping fracking, or plastic production, or industrial pollution, or oil drilling, or deforestation, or sea acidification?

Even if they were able to, which they wouldn’t be able to, they wouldn’t. Because they would immediately be replaced by people who would immediately run the company, or government agency with a task, or whatever, into the ground. It’s not possible to guide the direction of society like it’s a video game. And your fixation on race, it is just like an eco-fascist’s, except that white people are the villain, not the heroes. Your views are irrational and based on emotion, clearly.
