From what I’ve read probably a few reasons. One is that due to increased international isolation they are trying to cozy up to any allies they can. Close relations with Somaliland help them increase their influence in the Gulf, helping trade and placing more pressure on the Houthis. Some sources have connected this to an US-Israel proposal back in march to resettle Gazans in the Horn of Africa (including somaliland) but so far that hasn’t come up again.

from an american angle: trump has been real against somalia lately, and somaliland is a separatist state of somalia; maybe they got israel to recognize somaliland to antagonize somalia further

IMO this is probably gonna backfire. They’re trying to get whatever allies they can but this is just gonna make Turkey, Egypt, and other surrounding countries which are already pissed off at Israel even more mad.

Turkey just aided Israel & the US on a campaign in Syria. I highly doubt these countries will turn their back on Israel & the US. Israel seems to be backed by some of the richest people & institutions in the west, and they have power through capital & Mossad.
