Probably not a good idea to make assumptions about the shooter’s motives, the FBI seem to be doing enough of that already that the guy’s defense attorney thinks it’s for the best to shut the fuck up and not even pursue a plea.

Yeah, that’s fair. I just can’t grasp the idea that some 22 year old engineering student with a 4.0 gpa would have the resources to do this, and not be smart enough to not leave the weapon behind. With how complacent the government seems towards the growing divide, it wouldn’t surprise me that they were counting on this. I’m not too knowledgeable on Kirk so I’m indifferent to him, but it seems odd they were so keen to “honor” him with half mast and a direct public announcement form the president

I read he went to college for an engineering program for six months before dropping out and going to trade school. The reason for the Kirk dick sucking is that Kirk was in direct communication with Trump almost daily and was a key part of the administration’s propaganda apparatus. The admin lost a strong soldier.

Ahh I wasn’t aware he was so close to them in that regards. That kind of makes sense, but now that I know that, I agree with sentiments I’ve seen that if they’re going to show this kind of heartbreak for Kirk, they should also be showing it for the constant mass shootings that happen across our nation. I think it was talked recently in one of my classes that we currently have about 3 shootings every week and it’s sadly been normalized because there’s so little that is done by the people on top

What’s most telling is that they’re flying flags at half staff for Kirk and gave him a fucking military honor guard meanwhile they make up conspiracies, joke and deflect responsibility anytime a Democrat is attacked or assassinated. They don’t care about violence they’re just fucking vile.

Yeah, and honestly I feel the same sentiment could be said about both left and right wingers. Especially after the celebrations of the man’s assassination? Like I said the guys never really been a concern of mine. I can admit I’m too privileged to know about the topics he supposedly talks down on, but I’ve seen people compare him to nazis and in my head that just can’t be right? I mean it might be but that feels like an extreme use case, and it feels like that word is thrown around a lot now

I don’t really care about lefties embracing violent rhetoric when the President encourages it against them. Why should I hold random anonymous shitters on Twitter and YikYak to a higher rhetorical standard than the President? When he shows any restraint I’ll maybe start to give a fuck.
