I really fw that Talarico (sorry if I spelled it wrong) guy in Texas’s use of Christianity in his campaign for Senate for exactly this reason, he’s clearly devout, and also progressive. And it’s not even that his religion and politics are separate in his rhetoric, it’s that he’s saying Christianity justifies progressivism.

The top line on his campaign website is “It’s time to start flipping tables” in reference to the Cleansing Of The Temple, and it’s fucking genius for running a progressive campaign in the Bible Belt.
