Quantum Computing would just create a lot of problems anyway. The thing is even though I’m definitely far from an expert quantum computing only would solve maybe the token problem. It wouldn’t solve the data/“thinking” problem. Nor does it solve the economics at least in theory. Maybe quantum computing whenever it comes out will be cheaper but I still think it’s a non-issue until we get there
"actual AI"? google search engine (without the LLM bit) is "actual AI". AI simply means something non-organic that can problem solve. AI is not human and it's ability to mimic human like communication doesn't qualify it as such; key word "it's". please stop with this nonsense
sapient: having or showing an ability to 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 difficult ideas and situations and to make good decisions : marked by keen and farsighted 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 and 𝐣𝐮𝐝𝐠𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 : 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐂𝐄𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆, 𝐖𝐈𝐒𝐄 AI does not possess understanding, awareness, reflection, discernment, wisdom or anything of the sort; not in any meaningful sense of the words
I’m a person of science, I’m always willing to challenge my beliefs. I do know about the Chinese room thought experiment, but I don’t see how it discredits my point. You’re still misinterpreting what I’m saying. I’m literally not personifying AI at this moment in time. I’m speaking in a hypothetical manner on a philosophical level. I’m not answering the question of “is it possible to make a sapient AI?” I’m giving my opinion on the question of “If a sapient AI is made, should they be free?”
