LLM are only capable of doing so much, and if companies don't find reasons to use them they'll shove them into their product wherever they can as a way to cash in on the bubble.

as someone who has a degree in studying how information and information technology shape society, you couldn't be more wrong. ai is creating jobs.

People that studied degrees requiring human interaction in the 90s-2010s are losing their jobs. People that work with AI obviously have more jobs. You’re just selfish.

LLMs aren’t the only model in fact it’s not the model replacing jobs

Do you know how hard it is to work and go to school full-time? That's not an option for everyone.

y'all should watch the south park episode that just coincidentally came on on my tv (s21e1). it talks about tech development and the job market. it might help you realize that you're thinking like a hick

if you have access to a web browser, there is no excuse to not be educated.

Most high-earning fields want you to be qualified with certifications. It's more than just doing studying.

If your education on how the economy works is from South Park, it explains a lot.

I've got a better one for you: how about the new season where it portrays Randy as absolutely clueless without the constant guidance of ChatGPT to the point that Shannon has to talk like GPT just to get him to listen to him. "This says a lot about society!!1!"

Some people just don’t have the capacity to be educated. Whether that is they are low income and have other needs to fulfill before they educate themselves. Or they are in a rural area where secondary education really isn’t the final goal because of the lack of quality education.

The people that come from the worst of it and get educated and become successful are very far and few between, we just hear about them because they are outliers.

Also we live in a world where being educated helps but doesn’t always give you a bigger paycheck, the piece of paper you get after paying tens of thousands in tuition (bachelors degree) while not being paid for said paper, is the thing that gets you extra money when you get hired by a company. Even more so if you got a second piece of paper (masters degree).

With all that being said, a subset of our population is always gonna be uneducated and they still gotta work to live like the rest of us.

i'm not talking about the economy. i'm talking about sociology. no fucking shit having a degree means you get paid more. both of you are fucking idiots pointing out the obvious while completely missing my point. you are being small minded. zoom tf out.

that's bullshit. of course having a degree means you get to demand a higher salary but that has nothing to do with getting a job. there are so many jobs in tech where you can acquire a certification to prof skills that you've learned on your own for very cheap and employers will be satisfied because they know you know your shit. take computer science and comptia for example. you can get a comp sci job very easily without a degree if you educate yourself and take the cert exam to get a cert.

it's about adapting to society and realizing that sometimes jobs become obsolete. that's just a fact of reality. get over it.
