they both had the same policy, just stated differently. both called for a “ceasefire”. none of them definitively stated (in fact, they explicitly refused) that they would condition/sanction military aid to israel to end their invasion or change their policy around israel. the only thing harris would have done is tell you this in a nicer way.
i don’t think it’s fair to say they had the same policy, harris did want an immediate end to the genocide and a two state solution while trump wants the us to occupy gaza and have them “finish the job.” i think functionally they’d be similar bc idk how optimistic i am that harris actually cared abt the stuff she was saying (even if it was marginally better than what trump was saying)
firstly, she didn’t even call it a genocide. in fact she didn’t even hold israel responsible for causing the humanitarian crises in Gaza, and maintained “unwavering” support for israel. secondly, she, just like every other democratic president who have stated they want a two state solution, completely undermine these statements by not holding the israeli government accountable for illegal settlement expansion and continued destruction and onslaught in Gaza.
for example, the “sanctions on illegal settlements” you have seen in the past from democratic presidents are not directly placed on the israeli government. they essentially do nothing to stop further expansion and displacement bc the israeli government can continue to fund the settlements themselves. so again, harris will tell you what you like to hear, but looking at material policies and actions, it’s not much different (if at all) to orange man’s approach.
i didn’t say she called it a genocide, i said she called for it to end bc she said numerous times “it is time for this war to end” which is functionally the same, just different rhetoric. she also has repeatedly criticized netanyahu especially when she was the candidate. her very first foreign policy moves as a candidate were publicly angering him at a press conference and not presiding over his visit to the senate.
