in regards to this, i believe there are multiple studies showing that introducing a transphobic person to a trans person (or people who know trans peoples in general) and significantly less likely to be transphobic. personal relationships are important!

this is why (when i have the bandwidth) i do try to talk to people and answer questions as a trans person. i cannot always be the guidebook but i can sometimes. i would rather awkward questions given in sincerity than bigotry given in ignorance

Yeah I was raised basically to be homophobic and transphobic but it worked. Then I actually went out and met people and widened my perspectives. I am the complete opposite.

This is part of why college educated individuals tend to have more liberal views. It goes beyond just having more education. College you leave home, that bubble. You meet people that are different (colleges tend to be more diverse), from different backgrounds.
