If the Dems don't clean up their act by the midterms I'm voting 3rd party or not at all. Their approval being in the toilet is not our job to fix. Blue maga cant complain and say our standards are too high. They have no standards and Dems meet them there

Oh. I mean I didn’t see the context…. Most people have been saying “purity leftists” to mean people who don’t like Newsom and Dems…. Sorry…..

Not huge fan of Gavin newsom tbh, not heard great things about him My issue is more related to those that choose not to think critically about actions but choose to remove themselves when someone they demean less pure than them has a decent opinion I just think it’s antithetical to movement building

Would you prefer Republican (MAGA) governance over whatever alternative is offered? I sure wouldn’t

Sure man, republicans will always be worse, but like, what’s wrong w us having a standard

For me the standard is “not MAGA”…it’s not good but it seems to be the state of affairs rn

You cant refuse to go to the lengths that it takes to protect women, minorities, LGBT ppl, disabled ppl, etc from violence at home and aid war and genocide overseas, and only punch left, then blame the pol you're supposed to protect for not voting for you. If all you have to offer consistently is some shit people that only offer “well we’re not as bad as the open fascists” and can’t accomplish major promises, instead sticking to rules that no one else is following, then you won’t get the votes

Oh, it’s definitely not, I voted from Kamala for that reason, but while we have time, wouldn’t we like to find someone more closely aligned Removing homeless camps is kinda shitty and would be something the republicans would do. It’s just in a blue suit yk?

Ur talking as if I control what democrats do lol. Obviously I wish they were better, but there isn’t a circumstance where i’d let R’s win to “teach them a lesson”

I voted for Kamala too but that was my last straw. The reaction Dems had and the strengthening of blue maga has almost completely turned me off to the Democratic Party. That part can collapse and die for all I care at this point unless they clean their act up

It’s not about teaching democrats a lesson, it’s about voting for candidates I can trust and believe in. Democrats aren’t offering that. There are some democrats who offer that, but the party is punching down on them!!! Trying to get them out of elections. Tells me all I need to know.

(If it means anything, i at least think “vote blue matter who” applies even if the candidate is Mamdani-esque)

I agree and disagree with this approach. I once heard “whatever we destroy, we will have to rebuild” So for me, while I do think the Democratic Party is horrendous. I’m choosing to go to democratic meeting a pull them left, more aligned with me. I personally find that easier than creating a new party For that same reason I go to republicans meeting. If I can pull them left, well that shrinks their Overton window

Yeah, i just said that b/c i can only control so much in politics other than my vote. It’s frustrating that Dems won’t do better, but better them than R’s all day

I just don’t see a benefit to voting Dems. They aren’t defending any of my rights, they aren’t doing what is necessary. They’re just holding signs and wearing pins and making speeches and still voting for MAGA bills in Congress.

I would go so far as to say the inaction of democrats since the 80s has led to where we are now and helped produce Trump. People wouldn’t have simply gone to Trump unless they were so dissatisfied with their living conditions. It’s not *just* racist propaganda that drew them to Trump. It’s the fact that at least since Clinton in the 90s, Dems and republicans have hand in hand helped destroy this country for rich people.

My local democrats literally spend $500 every three months to send post cards to a representatives that doesn’t even show up. I hate a “we gotta ignore the issues and focus on the voters” but realistically that’s still better than republicans. Not that I have anything positive to say about them What happened in Mexico?

In Mexico the liberal party was suffering so bad in the polls that the party collapsed and a left wing populist party called MORENA took its place and now Mexico basically has their own FDR in Claudia Sheinbaum, and she is consistently delivering for Mexicans and is one of the most popular politicians and leaders in the world right now

You should also genuinely be doing that as well, apart of our effort at our party is being local mutual aid organizations to the fore front The _______ regional commission, community garden, shelter, and school organization are important and should be intertwined with our political front
