So you’re admitting that a larger social safety net means a higher quality of life even with less average income? Canada is considered one of the happiest and healthiest nations on the planet. Sounds like we need free healthcare.

This is life expectancy at birth, right? Switzerland and Norway are rich as hell, so no surprise they live 83 years instead of… 79? There’s also so many non-healthcare related factors. People’s diets, sedentary lifestyle, even car accident rates. The basket of countries in the above chart represent… what? 3% of global population?

Idk why people bring this up, as if the US doesn’t also have egregiously long wait times for specialists. I just tried to make an appointment with a specialist yesterday and the earliest availability was December 😐

They’ve figured this out. We can’t bc we are beholden to a multi billion dollar insurance industry that needs us to be sick to make money

Ofc there are, but is it not even concerning to you we spend vastly more than other developed nations while seeing worse results?

They wait 6 months to get into a specialist, recommend MAID if it takes too long, and you should read about medical tourism to the U.S. (which exists)

Because America, famously, has no wait times. Nobody there is asking for American healthcare where a single hospital stay can bankrupt you. That should tell you something. Americans will regularly refuse an ambulance because of the cost.

yes, but guess who can afford medical tourism? Only privileged, wealthy folks! His entire point is that 6 months of waiting is better than not being able to afford healthcare
