there wasn’t a meaningful change, if anything the tariffs hurt American manufacturing bc just bc the plants are here doesn’t mean the raw materials come from here too

well yea i mean the outcome was legitimately negligible at best but for those who were in support of them, saying they had huge power, bringing tens of trillions of imaginary investments, restructuring trade agreements... like what now? all of that is gone because trump cant leverage that threat against everyone

We literally lost 67k manufacturing jobs 😭 not sure if a bigger loss was already expected last year for another reason, but I’d be surprised if so
