this may be a dumb question, but that like ballroom addition will not even be CLOSE to being finished when Trumps term is over. if a democrat wins in 2028 and doesn’t want the ballroom, does it just… sit there half done

There’s a theory going around that the reason is because Trump doesn’t plan on leaving in 2028, which would make sense given his track record

I feel like even republicans in congress would be super upset about that. As much as I think they’re dumbasses, I can’t imagine any public servant would completely utterly defy the one very obvious thing in the constitution. Yea they’ve ignored other things, but that is like… a big one…

I get that but Trump and his administration are ignoring the constitution (Trump even said it himself), so I don’t think it would matter if congress didn’t want to or not because he’d just ignore them anyways
