I think that’s the normal oath. We literally have our children in schools acknowledging the existence of God daily in the Pledge. Every single president has been sworn in over a Bible. Of all the things to point out that Trump is doing, this ain’t the gotcha you think it is.

Not really? I think that’s like… number #354 in things that could and should be changed in this country. And I checked, it’s part of their standard enlistment oath. Also, upon reading it, “true faith” is out of context.

If you read the full oath, it’s true faith and allegiance to the United States, specifically the constitution: “I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same…”

Literally every single member of the military and every single politician has given a similar oath. Even atheist democrats.
