The reason politicians are so against socialism is because their livelihood is centered around capitalism and exploiting the lower class by making them into desperate, capitalistic-reliant cogs in machines that make them richer and us poorer.

We really don’t think that deeply about all the made up words people made politically for whatever the fuck it is you’re talking about. Personally, half my family was killed by the original socialist system in Russia. Thats about as deep as I go thinking about it, nor am I a capitalist like they exist today, and I get why it’s appealing given what capitalism turned into, but, I would rather see decentralized small businesses spring up than ever let the government gain that much control again.

Tbf a massive chunk of the blue collar workforce is anti-socialism too, at least in concept. It doesn’t really account for that.

have you considered that socialist countries always fail

It’s because people have been fear mongered against socialism to the point where they think it will rip our society apart if we have it.

Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Vietnam, etc. only reason they haven’t been bombed is bc allies but they have largely centralized socialist governments and policies. Nobody is advocating for a 100% socialist society.

Production is private in literally every single country that you named.

We didn’t bomb the USSR, pre-Deng China, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Albania, etc and none of them are socialist today

To be fair, democratic socialism is just about progressive policy under a capitalist framework. It’s not really socialism the way most people envision it
