There’s one good? thing about Americans. We are so used to luxury we cannot handle war time rationing, famines, or economic destruction. So if a fascist actually fully 100% took over, when the economy inevitably collapsed Americans would get really mad

Americans are already really mad tho. Maybe not torches and pitch forks mad but… they are coming off years of COVID stuff so, it’s probably most Americans are somewhere between a 3 and a 9 if 10 is maxed out angry. Also I theorize we technically are near 100% facist already if you consider the surveillance state is more or less controlled by the govt because tech+people with guns capable of doing violence, so people and corporations, even thought they own surveillance state equipment, and 1/2

Our lives of luxury actually make us more vulnerable to fascism. We extract resources from other countries, which improves citizens’ lives materially. Then, an inevitable economic downturn happens as a result of the structure of capitalism. Someone appears who says “we need to go back when everything was good. Put me in power and I can make that happen” (MAGA). The population then has three choices: wait out the economic crisis, address the contradictions of capitalism (i.e. go communist), or…

2/2 things on paper like land, homes, cars, whatever. If the government really wanted to change something or deny access to something “owned” by a corporation. It could. Technically the govt owns all the corporations… through “partnerships”.

I might disagree with that a little. Trump certainly won’t last, he’s old and on his second of two terms. However, the conditions that produced Trump will persist: a system that allows the rich to evade accountability combined with economic anxiety in the lower classes and a dash of white supremacy and american exceptionalism on top. The current political & economic structure will produce more Trumps as well as more Trump supporters
