saw a pregnant woman on tiktok say “if anything goes wrong during labor save me, not the baby” & it makes me really sad that we have to clarify that

I’ve been seeing those and there’s people in the comments acting like that’s selfish and they’re all high and mighty bc they’d “forever put their child over themselves” and stuff like that

And not to get real philosophical or anything but it’s very wild to me that, despite people advocating for the family unit or fathers in the home, there are men who would choose the life of their child despite that eliminating the life of the mother and the presence of a mom growing up. I think these specific men underestimate how important women are to bearing and rearing children, among many others who undermine the amount of domestic work women do

As Caterina Sforza apocryphally said, I can make more. According to one rumour, when they threatened to kill her children, Caterina, standing in the walls of the fortress exposed her genitals and said: "Fatelo, se volete: impiccateli pure davanti a me ... qui ho quanto basta per farne altri!" ('Do it, if you want to: hang them even in front of me ... here I have what's needed to make others!').

yeah i don’t understand that. a lot of people have children at home who wouldn’t understand if mom didn’t come home. most people obviously have a partner, moms, dads, family. i can make another baby but there will never be another me. save the apple tree not the apple ?????

Like my parents divorced young. They’re both not bad parents, but until I could take care of myself, my dad just really struggled to parent. I think he felt that his responsibility only lied with being a “fun dad” rather than a caretaker and a parent.
