This I think is partially a locality thing. Its like the “No Chinese person has ever called me the N word” from an American as an implication of them not being racist. But if they ever actually went to China, it would quickly be clear that they are racist and open about it.

Can we just admit that both religions are equally harmful as they both perpetuate conservative, patriarchal, homophobic, misogynistic beliefs and neither religion should influence politics?

we aren’t in iran we are in america. Most muslims aren’t extremists they’re peaceful people. same way most christians aren’t nationalist

yeah the difference is the government. muslim governments are not peaceful and tend to be extremists. That’s why our journalists have been decapitated, our POWs burned alive, women accused of adultery are stoned, etc… christianity is not the biggest of your problems

Christianity isn’t the problem it’s the christian nationalists who want to govern based on the bible and lose their minds over people following different faiths. it’s christian nationalists giving Christians a bad image and why people leave the church

I don’t support any government that’s based on religion whether it’s Islam, Judaism or Christianity

only the more right wing politicians tbh not all of them. they mainly use the bible when justifying their beliefs. like displaying the 10 commandments in schools, having student led prayers etc. things that go against freedom of religion

Yeah a lot of those things are on a more local level in states like Texas and Alabama. people just voted to pass an amendment for student led prayers in schools

I also appreciate your willingness to have a civil discussion on this. it’s more of what we need in this country

Could be but I’ve also traveled and met Muslims from other countries and only had good experiences with them. But funny enough about your china example it’s possible that Americans could hear words that sound like the N word 😂
