pretty high, depending on the variant. covid mutated quite fast, vaccines formulated for the initial strain obviously were a lot less effective at preventing transmission of newer ones, but at least reduced symptoms

it also worth noting that while vaccines reduce the risk of infection, this works better when everyone is vaccinated because it makes it harder for the disease to spread at all. there were a large population of ardent pro-covid people in America which made things worse. If you’re getting massively exposed 24/7 it’s somewhat unavoidable that you’ll get sick eventually, even if vaccinated.

I’ve been trying to find a number and haven’t really found a straight up answer and was hoping you’d know. I was curious if it was more effective than the flu shot.

I don’t know if there is a straight answer because of how much it varied and how quickly.
