I’ll never understand why people keep voting republican “for the economy” when there is really nothing to support this

because they say it over and over again and eventually it gets into peoples heads that republicans are better for the economy

They only watch Fox News and propaganda instead of researching

Trying to explain to my (red state) school’s page the very basic economic fact that tariffs get passed onto the country that’s enacting them was like pulling teeth. Suddenly though, nobody’s vocal about being pro Trump anymore. Weird

Economy is important, but quite frankly no one’s economic policies have seemed to help much anyway. But there are bigger moral issues that are the reason I vote the way I do.

Because most Americans support a free market economy and republicans have been brainwashed to think democrats are all communists that will take that away (democrats are just as free market)

because they take the facts they’re given at face value instead of digging and actually seeing it’s all lies

I know, but isn’t the first thing about politics that you shouldn’t trust any promises a candidate makes? People are idiots

This ^^^ I vote based on morals too (and I think some republicans do too, they just have a diff idea of morals because of religion or whatever) I’m just confused by why some people believe republicans are better for the economy, that doesn’t seem to be the case when they’re in office

I do support a lot to the more traditional free market values often voiced by the republican side. I think a lot of republicans just don’t want a lot of government involvement in day to day economy. I think the economy sucked under Joe Biden and still isn’t great. But like I said there’s bigger reasons than the economy for how I vote 🤷🏻‍♂️

When Biden left office all of his economic numbers were fantastic.

Because being pro trump at this point is embarrassing. It’s like a dog that keeps getting kicked and still follows its owner

That is not at all true, what? He marginally reduced the inflation rate after it had already skyrocketed. And they ended up having to quietly walk back all of the positive economic reporting they could muster, such as the jobs and unemployment report.

Unemployment was 4ish%, inflation was around 3%, GDP gain 2-3%….every single number is better than Trump what are you even yapping about. Give me a stat to prove his macro Econ numbers were bad and maybe I’ll consider

And yes ofc the long term shit show of growing debt is an issue, both consumer and nationally, yes most Americans can barely afford a few hundred dollars of an emergency payment that is a SHITTY economy under Biden but my lord Biden was far better than the sales tax dipshit Trump
