also my catholic parents literally celebrated francis dying because he was franciscan and not dominican, leo is augustinian. genuine turf wars so catholics just dont give a fuck sometimes

Isn’t the pope literally chosen by God? Like He is supposed to work through the conclave and guide them People literally cry meeting the Pope in person because, if you are Catholic, the Pope is basically the closest you get to God until judgement in the afterlife

well its hard to contest their denomination of mythology when they talk to priests of said denominational mythology fairly frequently. its like if a news company sourced their reports from an magic 8 ball and said it was 100% reliable when they asked the 8 ball. circular logic, purest form of confirmation bias possible, call it what you want
