I mean I like all of those things but Iโm mostly into mechanical stuff and audio stuff. Besides the slot machine, and besides my 80s Walkman because I broke it :<, probably my minidiscs and players? I mean I have a vintage recording Walkman, thatโs pretty sick. Probably my guitars are up there too. Vintage wise tho, yeah probably my slot machine or walkmans
Hopefully not, maybe not, hopefully not. I have uranium glass though. It doesn't look like I restored this but I put around 18 hours into a complete mechanical overhaul on this machine. Spring driven was peak playing technology at the time. The spring will slowly not push enough power and the music will slow. That was normal for these machines.
The clock btw, 1890s 8 day clock. One wind for 8 days. Also peak technology at the time. The joy isn't owning these things for me although it eventually is. Everything I own has gotten some touch from me here or there. The clock just needed some oil. I sold a really cool cast iron one once and I think I regret that.
Oh I totally agree, I buy shit with the intention to slowly improve it over time. Thatโs part of why losing my Walkman was so fucking devastating. She wasnโt even dooooone. I bought that slot machine fully knowing I could purchase something similar and have to do less work for the same price. But I reaaaaally like that quarter slot.
