I think Democrats are absolutely shit at their jobs, and I still HAVE to vote for them, because Republicans are just that bad. I fuckin hate Democrats, and I’ll say they deserved it when they lose, but nobody can say I didn’t do my part. I’m anti-electoral enough to make the same fundamental arguments as the “don’t vote” leftists, but I’m not deluded enough to think elections are meaningless. I think that comes from a lot of Blue State Leftists who are insulated from the consequences.

I think Democrats have a myriad of problems mostly stemming from their lack of willingness to exercise power. It’s honestly the classic death knell of liberalism as a philosophy. Liberals cling to these ideals of restrained use of power, of freedom for everyone to engage in politics, and when someone is intentionally trying to destroy those things, they’re still too restrained to actually do anything about it.

I say it all the time, but the failure to punish January 6th at the top was like the biggest blunder ever. You go find every backwater rube who showed up that day and was in the crowd, and prosecute them to the fullest, only to let the ringleader RUN FOR PRESIDENT AGAIN? And when I say “yeah doing a J6 should’ve gotten Trump at least imprisoned, if not just shot” people are like “well you can’t just do that to your political opponents” like bro he’s not just a political opponent anymore

I mean fuck man, I voted for Kamala Harris, but her campaign kinda just sucked, the shit was poorly done. And yeah, you can blame the electorate for that, but the blame primarily rests with Harris, her campaign staff, and the Democratic Party. If you can’t beat a guy who you’ve already beaten before, who’s a known criminal, with a bazillion scandals, I’m sorry but you’re kinda just incompetent. Which is better than malicious, but it allows the malicious party back into power every single time.

If Democrats take back the White House in 2028, and fail to immediately get medieval on the GOP, then they’re just delaying the inevitable rise of American fascism. It’s time to stop thinking like John Locke, and go Machiavelli mode on the people seeking to destroy democracy. If Democrats can acknowledge that Republicans are anti-democratic, and seek to destroy liberal democracy in the United States with its own tools, then they gotta pick up some different tools. Like a hammer.
