There’s a lot of interesting dialogue concerning the “correct” name of the indigenous peoples on his continent, but a lot of indigenous communities actually just prefer Indians because that’s just what they’ve become since all of the government stuff uses Indians anyways. Another point is that “Native American” is much too vague and broad, since indingenous peoples from South America may not have anything in common with like the Navajo for example but they get lumped together

But also like some people prefer native Americans which kinda also just proves that point further since they aren’t just one collective group of people that all agree on one thing so it’s kinda pointless to group them together anyways
