Hi! Question. We hear a LOT of criticism of activist judges. What about the activist legislators? The ones writing blatantly unconstitutional laws literally just to get sued and go to the Supreme Court in hopes of setting a new precedent?
Supreme Court just slapped down Trump’s liberation day tariffs. Watch the lobotomites get mad and call the majority conservative Supreme Court “activist judges.”

Like - that was the ENTIRE Republican strategy for getting Roe v Wade overturned. Why aren’t we pissed at THAT? Why just the judges?

I’m not saying I don’t see your point, but the term “activist judges” was created by the right to insist the judicial branch, whose responsibility it is to be neutral and fair, was instead chasing political goals. The responsibility of the legislative is, more or less, to chase and achieve political goals through legislation. Yes the unconstitutional bullshit is ridiculous, however, that’s also more or less the responsibility of legislators on the left as well to defeat bs precedents

Just saying it’s apples to oranges, calling a legislator an activist for passing legislation (however crazy) is kinda like calling a corporation greedy or a cop poorly trained, it’s the point.
