Fair if they’re criminals and not families but a buddy of mine just got detained him and his family cause they’re brown people. Hell his whole family are here legally they all were born here. A day and a half in a detention center isn’t something kids especially should be going through.

Yeah but a lot of people here legally are also being detained. And even so if they’re here illegally they still contribute to this country. They wouldn’t be here illegally if the legal process wasn’t genuinely terrible. And why do we care so much about the southern border? Why aren’t we going after those dastardly Canadian illegals?

Just because a murderer contributes to the country doesn’t mean that he shouldn’t go to prison. You realize ICE is arresting illegals in general right? It’s just that there’s a lot more Hispanic/Latin illegals too? I’m sure illegal Canadians, Europeans, Asians aren’t getting media coverage

Yeah but they don’t. El Salvador isn’t where the majority of our immigrants are coming from. And again people who are here legally still shouldn’t be detained for the color of their skin and even when people are here illegally we should work to make the people that aren’t hurting anyone legal, not just deporting them to a country that most likely isn’t even the one their from. And AGAIN they wouldn’t be here illegally if the process don’t take longer than a presidential term.

Well yeah this country was built on racism. Even if I’m banging my head on a brick wall I still like to have a proper conversation and argument. When it starts to devolve into name calling is when I give up because what else is left to say at that point.

Right, so someone on my campus got detained by ICE a bit ago. He’s here legally and he brown skinned. I don’t think their databases and IDs are working too well if they’re constantly detaining people who are here legally. It’s 100% skin color and you can’t twist it any other way.

My argument is that illegals should not benefit from being in this country illegally. Just like Singapore, just like Japan, just like any other country has the right to establish care for its citizens and immigrants and refugees who seek asylum and get their citizenship in a way that is legal

That’s not what you were arguing about with me. You were arguing that ICE uses databases and government IDs to detain people, which is wrong. You can’t have a database on an undocumented immigrant. My argument is that they use racial profiling. If people are screaming about “illegals crossing the border,” who do you think the easy targets are? People of darker complexion. Which two countries are connected to our borders? Canada and Mexico. It’s easier to target brown people in this country.
