I agree, NYC has a lot of equipment. NYPD is rapidly shrinking because no one wants to be a cop there, making sure they have funds is still important. I know there’s bad cops out there and there’s ridiculous shit that some departments spend their money on, but those are thin and few compared to the thousands of departments spread across the country

Are you against funding or absurd equipment? Funding goes for wages, which affects how many officers they can have, maintenance of vehicles new tires oil changes, uniforms, gear, there’s more to funding than absurd equipment

yeah because the kinds of people inclined to be cops are fucking babies. waa waa you can’t be racist and murder people for no reason, cry about it. for decades police departments across the country have deliberately rejected candidates that are too educated or intelligent. perhaps if police existed as something other than armed thugs, maybe they’d have less problems hiring people in a society that sees them for what they are

As a New Yorker NYPD gets way too much money lmfao. I’ve had one positive experience with them and the countless others have ranged from witnessing them harass people to them standing around as assaults occur to being scolded for reporting that I witnessed a potential kidnapping and rape to being endangered by them misusing a helicopter for joyrides. Theyve been shielded from consequences as an institution for decades and are by far the worst PD I’ve ever lived under.
