Venezuela I’ll give you, debatably. They’re very split though. Iran is… uh… certainly a take you could have made. You didn’t mention Israel or Russia. Meanwhile Trump has alienated the entirety of Europe, Canada, Mexico, somewhat China, technically included under Europe but I feel like I have to mention Denmark again, and basically everyone else. One thing that really shows this is the “Board of Peace” he wanted as an alternative UN doesn’t have any big names or traditional US allies.

Republicans have essentially taken a baseball bat to decades of soft power. Nobody wants to trust the US when they could be tariffed for no reason, or have the US wanting to annex part of their country, or get snubbed in favor of dictators.

Fyi trump wasn’t the first one to look into purchasing Greenland, Truman offered to buy it for several millions. Also we have higher tariffs because we do not want to fund countries that hate us, nor do we want to fund sweatshops. We are only tariffing our allies because they have not been paying their share and have relied on us to fund other countries which isn’t fair either.

Truman tried to purchase Greenland in secrecy under the Cold War. He didn’t get pissy and publicly threaten 100% tariffs when they said no. It still “came as a shock” to the Danish. The point was to put an American military base there- which we have.

The justification for the tariffs by the Trump administration is not “funding countries that hate us or sweatshops”or “countries paying their fair share”. The justification is that these countries have a tariff on us and so these tariffs are “reciprocal”. This is not true. And either way, I don’t see how you can defend tariffing a bunch of uninhabited islands as anything other than “yeah just tariff everybody” and missing the fact that these islands are UNINHABITED.

He also refused to tariff Russia and Iran, for “countries that hate us”. Same for Belarus, Cuba, and North Korea. Russia is especially notable cause we imported like $3 billion from them in 2024, despite sanctions. It’s not like there’s no trade going on.

Yeah and Trump provided complete transparency and is not going to kill innocent danish people. Greenland has resources and gives us a land advantage against countries that hate us and our allies.
