I find that people on the right aren’t often literally “conservative”, it’s more like maintaining an elitist system in hopes to benefit from it

Maybe? I dunno, I live in the South and it seems like everyone here votes Republican because the Bible tells them to hate the gays and to ban abortion.

Totally get that perspective! I grew up in the south too with conservative family and I get the way things are politicized- I’m more referring to the “libertarian” type of conservatives bc they’re usually the loudest on the internet, they would LOVE to break out of things like that but only if it benefits them and not the minorities that they were taught to hate

Sorry that didn’t clarify anything looking back- I meant like “frat boy” genre of conservatives, and how there are plenty of “liberals” who live literally conservatively in the way they dress, faith in god, family structure, family tradition etc but hold left leaning politics
