As a Christian I find it insulting that they’re comparing the death of Jesus to any of those other deaths. Jesus was sinless and was given the lowest and most humiliating death the Roman Empire had at the time so that humanity could be redeemed.

“American Christianity” yeah heterodox theology devolves over time with further splintering of such theology and leads people into the teachings of the evil one, which manifests in a variety of way. That’s why Christ is truly found in the Church, not in heterodox faiths. This is not the Christ that they claim to worship who is the same yesterday, today, and forever. It leads people to have distorted views and then do things like compare political activists to Him.
