Because the history textbooks only ever focused on world war 2 and his crimes against the Jews. Literally no other group he went after was in the textbooks back in my Texas high school

Because Hitler was a racist demagogue who led the intentional mass extermination of multiple ethnic groups in the most well-organized industrial genocide in human history. We went to war against him. Most of the deaths under Mao were due to incompetence.

Hitler’s evil led to the worst conflict in human history and the largest genocide, marked by the sheer methodical, industrialized nature of the slaughter. Mao, while still an unbelievably evil human being, had his crimes primarily limited to China, with a significant portion of deaths occurring due to his own stupidity, not pure evil intent

The Uyghurs are subject to forced assimilation as a form of cultural genocide. Like what America or Canada did to indigenous peoples in the 1900s. Jews were mass murdered. It does not have the same methods, goals, or scale. To compare a mass internment and assimilation campaign impacting to the largest industrial genocide in human history is misleading at best, and at worst is obfuscating the true monstrousness of the Holocaust.

Acting like that’s all who Hitler got killed. Yeah you’re definitely one of THOSE types. You weren’t looking for a real answer.

I looked it up and it says estimated 20 million. Still substantially less than Mao Zedong

Have you perhaps considered that intentional eradication of millions of people based on ethnicity is different from having stupid agricultural policy that leads to famine? Also 60 million is the maximum of the estimated death toll. You’ve been using the max toll for Mao but minimizing the deaths under Hitler as much as possible.

You’re one of those types who minimizes the death toll of fascism while using the maximum possible death tolls under communism, because you are more sympathetic to fascism than communism.

you said it beautifully. Cultural and linguistic genocide is still genocide, but not the same level as genocide. There is a debate to be had about if the term genocide lowers the global importance of mass murders and similar that dont fit the criteria of genocide, but that is to be had after these liberals understand the difference between types of genocide.

To be clear the Uyghur language is all over in Xinjiang, it’s an official language of the region
