Hm, I get you man, but it’s tough - because a ‘leftist ideology’ claim from Governor Cox just isn’t quite the same as primary documents or direct evidence. Especially since - unfortunately - conservative officials/pundits have a pretty long and extensive track record of jumping the gun in shooter motives when it serves their narrative goals (blame being thrown at antifa, trans ppl, even BLM, only to be wrong later).
That could have very well be governor Cox’s interpretation - or his family’s best guess (if we’re assuming honesty there) - but that’s not the same as hard-line evidence. I’m more open. Especially considering records show that he’s consistently been an inactive and unaffiliated voter. Also (I actually find this fascinating), there are indeed Groypers - and other right-wing subgroups - that do espouse anti-fascist rhetoric. So treating that as inherently left-coded doesn’t fully hold up.
