because Republicans hate LGBT people and it’s a useful thing to fear monger about. they’ve been fearmongering about “the gays” in general for like 40+ years.

To be fair there are other healthcare’s that are heavily politicized like euthanasia, abortion, (and now vaccines I guess ) But yes largely I agree it should probably be primarily between a person and their doctor
