i’ve seen it explained by them and basically they relate to him bc he’s frustrated by a failing democracy and tries to fix it by turning to authoritarianism. conveniently not mentioning that his genius idea was committing genocide under the guise that the jedi are a rival power that need to be consolidated into a strong executive. sounds pretty damn familiar doesn’t it
