I think shitting on something that represents our founding fathers is un-American. I don’t think any of them would agree with the current situation in our country. They were great men

They were mostly slaveowners and warmongers, George Washington was called "Destroyer of Towns" by Native Americans for his military campaigns against them, they were not great men they were white supremacists and elitists and we need to stop idolizing them

I don’t think anybody’s calling them perfect men, but you don’t have to be perfect to be great. Ya a lot owned slaves and while that was normal at the time it also isn’t ok for obvious reasons. But there does need to be a certain respect for the very core of our nations birth or else we lose that core identity that we want to have: freedom, equality, commerce, hope. These were all ideas our founding father wanted to use for America and not their own flaws like slavery, native genocide, etc

TLDR I totally get what you mean and there 100% need to be accountability for their flaws and mistakes, but generally they were great men for starting our nation with the values and mechanisms they set up
