I am pro-Palestine, but there is definitely a growing amount of *legitimately* antisemitic rhetoric online nowadays. Let’s not swing too far in the other direction to where we’re entering bigotry territory

This… while not inherent to the movement for Palestinian emancipation, it’s far too common for groyper-type nazis to co-opt the movement for their own ideological gain

I just wish that the Pro-Israel people would condemn actual antisemitism instead. Ms Rachel being up for Antisemite of the Year while Nick Fuentes didn’t even make the list is a joke.

i am Jewish and I think a good part of the pro-Palestine movement was antisemitic from the beginning. but lately a lot more people like you are challenging that part of the movement and actually taking Jewish people’s concerns seriously, which i appreciate :)

genuine antisemitism, rather than critiques to the israeli government, almost exclusively comes from far-right sources. “antisemitism” was used as a scape goat to undermine the pro-palestinian movement at first. now, right wing groyper-type groups have clung onto the movement, but it’s not really “pro-palestine” as much as they are using it to further their anti-jew rhetoric. the intention of the criticism is extremely different and too far apart to equate them.

The annoying thing is now there are Candace Owens types who are co-opting anti-Zionism. How about that in the big 26 but here we are. Anti Zionism is inherently intersectional and about the liberation of all people. Now we have right wingers who have always been pro-Israel, and antisemitic at the same time, now decide that legitimate power struggle of Palestinians is popular and obvious enough to co-opt as a method of furthering antisemitism. Right wing commentators are the only antisemites here

All “pro Palestine” rhetoric is antisemitic

I mean, I don’t personally view Jewish people as inferior. Not supporting the government of a country is not the same as being a bigot

I’m glad to hear. Always nice to hear insight from someone who is close to a situation as well

It’s interesting to watch because from my perspective, at the beginning the antisemitism was a little more subtle and I think because the situation was so emotional nobody wanted to see it so almost everyone excused or defended or attacked people who mentioned it. But now the movement is starting to split between people who just didn’t see it before but see it now, and people who definitely saw it and agreed with it the whole time, and the second group is getting more extreme in isolation

Also, the conversation online has REALLY shifted in like the last couple of months/weeks. I see way less Israel-related antisemitism on my feed and way more people interested in having nuanced discussions and debates. I always suspected a good amount of the online stuff was an organized bot or troll campaign from somewhere so this would make sense if the campaign ended or got scaled down but it’s crazy

I think their justification for that was that he was a finalist last year 😭

I was about to say I fear people are just using “Netanyahu” as a filler for antisemitism now. The whole “curse Netanyahu” thing on TikTok

I don’t read that as antisemitic as much as just simply nonsensical. But I’m not Jewish. I saw the same in 2024 though, and it didn’t make sense either

i think it is an attempt to use people’s latent antisemitism to get them to not vote. like part of antisemitism is that you believe (consciously or not) the root and epitome of evil in the world is something Jewish. so if you unconsciously believe that Israel is the biggest evil on earth and also the root cause of all other evil, then if someone told you “both candidates support israel so you might as well not vote” it might make sense to you

I think I kind of see it. Because it makes zero sense to me how they justify some sort of moral standing by not voting against guaranteed increased harm for Palestinians. I’ve thought about this for 2 years and still can’t wrap it around my head
