You will pay less in taxes for universal healthcare than you do for your insurance premiums. It is simply propaganda that healthcare can’t be free

In b4 “it’s not free someone else is paying for it” yes that’s how private insurance works, other people’s premiums are paying for it, but a CEO is also just getting a 7 figure pay package

There’s also just that fact that it’s been working fine for decades in pretty much every other developed country

and fun fact - some countries that have universal healthcare also offer the option for you to purchase additional coverage (like our aflac) so if you need or want more, you can! insurance companies can still exist, but in a way that isn't so fuckin harmful

pretty sure if you just increase the corporate tax rate by like 2% u could probably have universal insurance in america without anybody else’s rates getting raised LOL

The business model for private health insurance is literally keeping premiums as high as possible and trying to deny claims as much as possible. It’s literally a middle man incentivized to be shit and drive up costs. There’s no way you can look at that and think it’s the best way to pay for healthcare. If you come at it purely from an economic perspective it costs less to make a single payer system.

AND healthcare itself will become less expensive, because there won’t be uninsured people won’t be driving up costs by not paying for services rendered

It doesn’t even make sense as “insurance” because what the fuck is the point of insurance if not to pool up money in the case of an extreme, rare event? It’s not really insurance if it’s required for you to get medication or checkups on a regular schedule. That would be like if car insurance was required to get routine oil changes lest they charge you $10,000 to examine your car

The reason insurance exists at all is collusion between private corporations and the levers of power being controlled by said corporations. It makes sense why in America the people are so fucking stupid that they don’t realize this. It’s as if we still use leaded gasoline
