I think people were stuck in echo chambers and underestimated how strong the right wing media apparatus has become. Also, no one gave a fuck what the economic statistics were. It didn’t match up with what they were seeing at the grocery store. Then you had a ton of young Gen Z who never remembered the first Trump term and allowed people to rewrite history
