i am a leftist. the characteristics which define leftism are antithetical to antisemitism and racism (or vice versa, idrc). that said, there are people who are "communists" "marxists" "leninists" or whatever label who are massive antisemites. hell, some of the people participating in the holocaust denialism had trans flags and hammer and sickle in their display name. its hard to sit here and not think that we're unbelievably cooked

Willing to bet that ~60-70% of all that comes from users in the Middle East and Eastern Europe, antisemitism has always been prevalent in those places. I always check through comment sections like that, look at the profiles, a majority of them tend to be from those areas

the extreme right government of israel and its actions should not spawn a legion of antisemites and nazis, unless if people are stupid, can only see jewish people as a monolith who are represented by the israeli government. that said, 50% of the population is dumber than the average person. so yea, theres a fuckin load of stupid people. theres a load of evil, greedy, power hungry non stupid people who fan the flames to directly benefit from stuff like this, which also doesnt help.
