I don’t trust the Covid vaccine 100% but I am fully confident in other more proven vaccines. Masks were important in the beginning but as time went on they were increasingly unnecessary. I think climate change is real and an important issue but at the same time is politicized and exaggerated at times.
I hate to say it as a research biologist, but #3 isn’t saying anything crazy based on what I expect from the general populace. I am a very firm leftist, I think the research very strongly backs the covid vaccine, but nothing was too out of pocket, you gotta understand that the average person is just hearing things that people tell them to do, rather than reading the actual relevant papers
This isn’t to say I agree, but I’ve seen liberals talk the same way. I don’t think is this that crazy as long as you get vaccinated and stay respectful of people’s boundaries and also their first comment was completely ok I can’t believe they were downvoted for saying a lot of republicans view science as God’s creation. You are really just buying in to what our media says about how conservatives view science and religions. Those in power are simply trying to put us outside of the top % against
That’s definitely not true, and in fact in my experience that’s how a lot of religious people reconcile their faith with natural laws. They believe that God set all of the natural laws into motion. This way of thinking doesn’t contradict evolution or any generally held beliefs about the formation of the universe, our solar system, earth, etc
I’m not saying as a biologist you can’t be religious. I’m saying that you can’t believe god is science as a biologist. You can’t believe that he made everything by a Rib and that he parted the Red Sea. You have to believe in evolution and science and understand the Bible is metaphoric
You can think differently without going against the entire basis of research for the past 100 years. Some things are factual and science, especially well researched topics, are factual in basis. Conservative views for the most part lack basis in fact but rather are hypothetical in nature.
Vaccines, trans rights, gay rights, the refusal to believe Trump is a felon, “protect children” except when it’s hundreds dying in school shootings then it’s “nothing can be done”, the genocide in Palestine, Trump disregarding the constitution and peoples constitutional right to due process, ICE deporting US citizens, ICE targeting people based on skin color
I’m going to generalize since each conservative will have varying views. Pro-life yet doesn’t want increased aid for poor families. Doesn’t want free childcare. Doesn’t want increased gun laws when they are proven to work. Economically conservatives have fucked us since Reagan. The lack of acceptance anything science/medical related
