The democratic party lost for something much deeper. The fact that the pro Palestine movement is STILL protesting Kamala Harris and has not been to a single Trump event to heckle him shows a level of Anti-Blackness and sexism within our country.

democrats are supposed to represent these ppls interests, republicans are not and never are going to.

I don’t think it’s because of discrimination. I think they’re literally just stupid and it’s an implicit admission that they had more of a chance to push her left than they did Trump

also like they have protested at trumps events try not to get mad

Also Dems would probably ignore them while republicans might actually assault them 💀

At this present moment though, what is gained from protesting a person who is not in power politically?

well she gonna run again, push the dems to be against AIPAC and israel in 26 and 28

Literally nothing, that’s why I called it stupid. It’s a waste of time and it feels performative. Go protest outside your governor or treasurer’s office instead. They’re probably buying Israeli bonds (and might not even be allowed to since their credit was downgraded)

obama coming out against the iraq war in 2008 was a big source of his popularity and a big reason why dems won. bc they stood for something

I disagree. Protest outside the office of someone who is currently in the power to do something. Not someone who might try to do something in 3 years

This is exactly why I said it’s basically performative. Because she can’t actually do much. No one wants to hear from her rn considering the campaign she ran, and frankly, she’s not in a position to give anyone political advice. There are *elected officials* literally sending taxpayer money to Israel in exchange for bonds that are usually illegal to buy. The focus should be on stopping that instead of going to someone’s book tour

Her book tour is not funding a genocide. When you buy Israeli bonds, you are. And when you do it with taxpayer money and the yield isn’t even worth the risk, it’s financially irresponsible

and how do we stop the funding of israel? by showing that it’s unacceptable to do so, which this does, and to elect people who commit to not do so, which this kind of protest should show that you have the people on ur side if you do so

I just said how. You stop the funding by drawing attention to the fact your state government is illegally buying unsound financial instruments for ideological reasons. Why should they get a pass? We’re talking about almost $2B. These states are supposedly strapped for cash. You can kill two birds with one stone here

That money should be going to investments in education and transportation, not Baa1 bonds. Jackson, MS doesn’t have enough money for clean water, but they have enough money for Israel Bonds?
