Even if I grant you that the original photo I quoted is a deep fake, that still does not mean the incident didn’t happen or that said person was not punched. Especially when we have video evidence of it happening

Well I mean don’t show me something fake initially and then send me on a quest to find the truth when you started with something fake. I’m more than willing to do the hunt for it if there’s time (there was in this case). People get emotionally manipulated enough by the news/corporate marketers. We don’t need to do it to each other.

I still remember the news trying to do this with footage from a Kentucky range and a bunch of pyrotechnics/tracer rounds being like “Kurdistan is being destroyed!” And I’m like… I was just in Kurdistan. Kurdistan is fine. wtf is this? And then I got gaslit by people for two weeks until they admitted “that was only a representation of the story they were trying to report” and I’m like… well that’s Kentucky and Kurdistan is fine. I just got gaslit by my extended family like my own eyes 1/2
