It kind of depends on which opposition we are talking about here tbh. In Israel basically the opposition are “Netanyahu slightly recolored alt skin” or “insane people”

Most of the dominant political rivals of Netanyahu are fairly close to him politically. Some a bit more centrist (Yair Lapid, Gadi Eisenkot), some a bit more right (Naftali Bennett). The people most likely to replace him aren’t the super far right ones, though they exist.

There is actually some good news in the recent polling. The Democrats have gotten more support. They’re the only mainstream Jewish political party in Israel that would consider not-evil. Yisrael Beytenu has also gotten more support, they are very militaristic but they support a pragmatic two state solution. They are both still behind the Together party, which is led by Bennett who may be worse than Netanyahu.

The dominant party in the polling is Yashar led by Eisenkot, which leads a bit above Netanyahu’s 2nd place Likud party. They are a bit more centrist than Netanyahu. They still support colonization of the West Bank and oppose a two state solution BUT they want Arabs to serve in the IDF which at least seems less genocidal? So like the good news is most polling doesn’t seem *worse* than Netanyahu.

No lmao. Netanyahu is already allied with the most extreme Zionists in the Knesset who say the most genocidal shit about Palestinians (Ben Gvir and Smotrich's party). The opposition bloc is more centrist by comparison.
