No, the right did. The right massively endorsed violence time and time again. Even when he was initially shot they tried to call for actual violence before they knew the shooter. First, I disagree and do not support calls to violence from any on right as well as people who joke about the death of the dem senator, just as you should for those on the left who joke about Kirk. The problem is you’re blanket labeling the right for the actions of a minority to incite political tensions and basing that argument on double standards. Second, I’m not arbitrarily deciding anything it should be common knowledge when something is appropriate or inappropriate.

I do think Kirk is an exception in that he is literally quoted as not believing in empathy. It’s very reasonable for a “normal person” to see someone who denounced empathy die, and shrug.

I definitely wouldn’t be. I’ve already broken away from the politics I was raised with; you have no idea what those politics were, by the way. Baseless assumptions are not a part of critical discourse. I found politics interesting at a young age, and did free research. My findings (obama’s air strikes being a gateway) broke the staunch centrism I had been told was morally and legally correct my entire life. Seriously, look at yourself.
