It’s actually insane how racism against Indians has become so normalized in the US. Stereotyping is bad and damaging, so why is it okay when it comes to Indians? Other groups have damaging stereotypes too.

Racism against everyone has been normalized , it’s not just Indians and it’s not okay for anyone. I guess the accent makes a dependable joke (?) but what’s more concerning now is the air of distrust around people of color across the country. People are being killed for their ethnicity, people are being killed because the killer thought they were a different ethnicity, that one poor Indian grandpa got arrested and tried for kidnapping for trying to entertain a baby, it’s terrifying

South Asians. I don’t really hear anyone, except older people, call Native Americans “Indian” anymore. I think most people call them Natives or Indigenous

That’s true, but racism against Indians I feel like is the least condemned. A sizeable amount of people still condemn and call out racism against other groups, and I just don’t see that when it comes to Indians. Most people pile on or laugh about it. I hardly see people in comments defending them.

Yeah I don’t think people care as much, maybe they see Indians as less oppressed due to the successful majority that live in the west? And therefore less deserving of being defended? Idk it’s fucking gross
