Personally, I think it’d be great if we went further than calling them fascists, we need to normalize discussing *what* they’re doing that’s fascist-like. Citing historical precedent, and how his mirrors our current reality.

Oh 100% , both parties say crazy stuff. But the party that tends to sling hate and play dirty (which has usually always been the rights) have lost this time being the lefts who did it.

The difference is that implementation of socialist policies doesn’t have people suffering as a requirement. So I’m not sure that logic exactly follows.

Again that’s not true at all. You’re just being subjective as to what you think works and doesn’t. Communism , socialist policies do have negative effects on people. Thats the nature of government , something will always have a negative effect on people. You’re missing the forest for the trees. Again you’re doing what I think is a mistake on democrats by forcing people to think one way and saying “you’re wrong” to others. What negative impacts? The rich losing some of their wealth? Oh no! They can only afford two yachts now. I don’t think you understand. I don’t advocate for full on socialism (at least, not yet), but implementing some socialist policies in a capitalistic society can bring benefits to the vast majority of people while limiting suffering society-wide.

I will strongly advocate for specific socialist policies that put checks on power and the excessive consolidation of wealth. But Humanity still has too many flaws to allow full socialism to work.

What worries me is if the maga admin is going to rig things so badly it doesn’t matter if the most dedicated progressive candidate in history gets into office, it will be fundamentally impossible to change things without burning DC to the ground and starting from scratch.

They literally tried to rig the election… they committed treason in the process and establishment dems didn’t do shit about it. Republicans openly talk about planning to rig future elections… openly. Trump outright has said, “we want to redirect to see if we can get five more seats”. He’s talking about running for a third term (which is illegal). Project 2025 as a whole is a framework to turning the presidency into a dictatorial position much the same way Hitler did in Germany
