What is happening is completely unorthodox. No president has sent ICE to raid apartment building, job sites, churches etc. Republican or democrat. What’s happening is completely unprecedented.

This argument is so old and tired. Number 1, even if a democratic president did that why can’t we be mad that a republican one is?? And number 2 THEY HAVENT. NO president has ever acted this way, democrat OR republican. Open your eyes dude

Oh you can be mad, I’m not saying it’s good at all. Treating them like that is obviously awful, but the goal of getting migrants out is good, imo.

Although I personally disagree, that’s an opinion you’re entitled to. But in this case execution of those goals is more important than the goal itself. Sure, wanting to end illegal immigration might be good. Creating a militarized law enforcement agency that can bust down citizens doors and detain them in the middle of the night is bad. Wanting to address violent crime is good! But deploying the military to US cities and telling generals we’re under invasion from within? Not great!

And that doesn’t even begin to cover the ways he’s dismantling democratic norms. The other day he posted on social media that low enforcement and (more concerningly!) the military should arrest anyone burning the flag and that they will be subject to one year in prison. Flag burning has been litigated to death and is protected under the first amendment. A president declaring a new law and setting a punishment for it is NOT legal OR normal. This should be really scary to everyone
