I mean this is the correct stance as a leftist. The US and Russia are both bad, but we shouldn’t want Ukrainians to be subjected to a government that wants to eradicate their culture.

Progressives aren’t necessarily leftists. If you’re an anticapitalist you’re a leftist, if not you’re not. Still better than regular liberals though.

I’m for a free market that has guardrails and government that uses taxes that go towards social programs that provide for the elderly, disabled, or otherwise less than capable individuals of society. A government is responsible for all of its citizens, not just the ones they deem more important.

Then yeah I’d say you aren’t technically a leftist but I don’t think it really matters, given that right now we’re in a fight for the survival of democracy period.
